Jodie began preparing individual income taxes with her mother who was a practitioner with over 300 tax clients in Lakeside, in 1979. In the years to follow she worked for corporations specializing in finance and accounting while also providing tax services to her clients. She passed the difficult two day Enrolled Agent exam in 1999. In 2006 she was offered a controller position with a small business specializing in government contract services and helped them grown from 2 million to over 45 million dollars annually with 350 employees worldwide. During her tenure as Controller-CFO, she was responsible for all government pricing, rate structure, proposals, negotiations, federal and state compliance for licensing and payroll, billing, payables, cash flow, corporate taxes and software programming. Earlier this year she left her employment to pursue her lifelong dream of being the owner of her own business.
She has consulted for multiple businesses implementing and training personnel in areas such as accounting, billing, payables, cash flow, payroll, and the ability to utilize reports in their software and in excel to assist in important financial business decisions. Her extensive knowledge in preparation of multi-state individual and business taxes along with payroll taxes, sales taxes, worker’s compensation, collective bargaining agreements, service contract acts, internal auditing, government and other business accounting provides her clients with the ability to meet their needs.
Today’s constantly changing tax laws make it an absolute necessity for tax professionals to maintain and update their expertise through annual continuing education and publications. Jodie is no exception and regularly takes professional courses in tax law, business and related fields in order to stay abreast of current tax changes and provide a more complete service to her clients.
